Unsolicited App proposal for Austrian mobile company ‘Drei’

WHY I WAS INSPIRED TO CREATE AN UNSOLICITED APP DESIGN

I was in need of a mobile contract here in Austria and decided to go along with ‘Drei’ (German for ‘3’ – hence the logo), since they offered a really good deal for a prepaid option; perfect for my usage and needs.

After one month I had to top up my balance which was the first time that I actually logged into their mobile app. The app is more or less straight forward, plain table row by plain table row, and at the same time quite confusing (e.g. offering 3 different menus). I really had quite some struggle finding my way to top up my account and ended up finding myself at the store to make sure my service wasn’t cancelled. (On that note: I did do everything correct!)

CHALLENGE

Since complaining about something is a lot easier than actually taking matters into your own hands I decided to take on this challenge myself and create an app that would show how UI/UX can be used to the advantage of customer and business, respectively.

IDEA / EXECUTION
  1. Develop a user flow diagram that breaks down the necessary steps and paths a user needs and has to take while using the app.
  2. Based on this planning and rearranging to finesse the user flow design the most relevant screens.
  3. Prototyping the app for visualization.
